Public notice of a Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) event
The Town of Centerville is a combined sewer overflow(CSO) community; a combined sewer accepts both wastewater and stormwater to be treated by the wastewater plant.
During a substantial rainfall event the combined sewers are not able to handle and treat the additional flow causing untreated flow to be released from the system at the combined sewer overflow discharge point. The discharge point is located at Nolands Fork Creek, south of the abandoned railway bridge. A CSO event occurred on May 24, 2017 that requires residents to take caution that no swimming or drinking of the water downstream from the discharge point occurs for several days after this CSO event.

We have NEW bills
We are excited to roll out a new look to your utility bill. Please note that your utility bill will be in an envelope and be a regular 8 1/2 x 11 size piece of paper. You can tear off the top portion and send in with your payment.
Tree limbs to be chipped
If you have received a notice to cut back limbs, shrubs, plants, etc., you may ONLY place limbs that are LESS than 4" in diameter and less than 4 foot in length or shrub limbs out by the roadside to be taken by the town.
As a courtesy, the town will bring the chipper and take care of the tree limb waste that meets the above specifications.
ABSOLUTELY NO trash, vines,
grass clippings or pampas grass.
Thank you for your help in keeping our town beautiful.
DUMPSTER NOTICE -
The recycling dumpsters will be discontinued as of July 29, 2016. It
was a tough decision, but ultimately, with cost and misuse, the decision
was made to take out the dumpsters. The town is currently looking for
ways to have recycling in our community.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the town office 8:00am-4:30pm Monday - Friday.
Office phone: 855-5515
